Hymn & Scripture Challenge #13 / Breathe on Me, Breath of God

Well I was able to get Hymn # 14 done last night so that means 1 more to be caught up.  Will I ever get totally caught up, probably not, but it is fun trying.

This is such a beautiful hymn and the words say it all.  Breathe on Me, breath of God.  What more can you ask for but for our God to Breathe on Me fresh every day.  Look at the words to this song.

Breathe on me, breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.

Breathe on me, breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.

Breathe on me, breath of God,
Blend all my soul with Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.

Breathe on me, breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.

Aren't they just beautiful.  There is nothing else to say except, make it so Lord Jesus.

Listen to Steve Green sing this wonderful hymn!

Now on to my page!

I just felt simple was the best for this page, so I just added color.  I used the verse from 1 Peter 1:22 because I want to show sincere love to everyone and only through the purification of our souls through Jesus Christ can we love like that.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.  Leaving this afternoon to spend the weekend with my daughter and her family in Virginia.  I am excited to see my grandkids!!!!

LNS Challenge 230 / Sketch 277 - Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Good Monday Morning everyone and welcome to our LNS Challenge - Summertime and our Monday Lunchtime Sketch.  Yes, I have combined them again and I am loving this card.  Just makes me happy.  I love living near the beach and I love watching my grandchildren at the beach.  So that kind of inspired what I used for this card today.  I actually turned the sketch to go with the stamp set I used.  And I also used some sponging to give it a little of a scene look, but not a lot.  So now on to see what I have as my sample for these two challenges today.

Do you ever feel like it is time for a break?  Well between work and other things lately, I have been feeling like I need a break big time.  And when I saw this sentiment with this stamp set it reminded me of the beach, and how I can just go there and relax.  Here is a side view of the card!

I also love this cloud embossing folder.  It seemed to just add the right background for this card.  And now the inside which I used a scripture and it goes so well with how I have been feeling and the front sentiment.  So I hope you like it as much as I did.  Here it is.

I know that if I go to our Lord, He will give me rest!  One of my favorite verses.

All items used are Stampin' Up! except inside bible verse.
Stamp Sets: Road to Happiness, ODBD Scripture Collection 4 (inside)
Card Stock: Real Red, Whisper White, Pacific Point
Ink: Pacific Point, Real Red, Gumball Green (sponging)

Cloudy Day Textured embossing folder

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you have a week filled with many blessings.

I am also adding this to the Word Art Wednesday blog

Clean & Simple 255

Last night I was able to play and actually got two cards done.  One you will see Monday, but here is the one I did by using the clean and simple challenge sketch from yesterday.  So simple, yet I just love this card.  I used one retired stamp which I love, one stamp current for the inside and a new embossing folder that I just received.  So here you go!

I also used the white baker's twine and used my marker to color it.  It is not even, but I do like the look.  Here is my side view!

And the inside!

Maybe it is because it is so early in the morning, but the inside looks blurred.  Well at least you get the idea.

All items used are Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets: Road to Happiness (inside), Well Scripted (outside, retired)
Card Stock: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana
Ink: Coastal Cabana

Festive Flurry - Snow Flake Shaped Card

I am in love with this cute little snowflake card that I made for the Sunny Challenges and Creations challenge this week.  I used the bigshot quite a bit since all the stuff on the card and the card itself is made from framelits or dies.  The bird, tree and snowflake came from the retired sizzlit die, Merry Details.  The bitty banners framelits was used for the sentiment and of course I used the Festive Flurry Framelits for the card itself.  It is small, but it would be great for a gift tag and that is what I am planning on using it for.  I used the large snow flake for the card.

Here is a side view!

And the inside!

All items used are Stampin Up!
Card Stock: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Garden Green, Midnight Muse
Festive Flurry Framelits
Bitty Banner Framelits
Sizzlit Merry Details Die
Frost White Shimmer Paint Sponged on

Thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed your visit!

MDS Birthday Page

My Grandson just turned 3 on July 29th and had a blast at his birthday party.  So far he has had a pool party every year at my house.  He is definitely a water lover, loves the beach and the pool.  Anyway, these were some pictures I took of him blowing out the candles, getting ready to take his plate and eat, and holding his poor full tummy once he was done.  Tried to get him to take off the wings, but that was a no!  Want to jump in once I am done!!!!

Anyway, here is the page I created from those photos and yes, I used the sketch this week from the MDS Monday Challenge.  Love their sketches.

Thanks for stopping by and now that lunch is almost over, I need to get back to work.

I used My Digital Studio to create this page!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge #13 / O God, Our Help in Ages Past

Well here I am back with you with another Hymn Challenge, # 13.  I am so excited that I have only one more to catch up then hopefully can stay on track.

Anyway, this hymn had some of the same thoughts from our last hymn, so all I could think up was how worthy our Lord is of our Praise.  He is our shelter from the storm and where I plan on spending eternity.  He is my helper in everything that I do.  And, I loved how they the song was sung here as they made it more enjoyable.  I was really getting into it.

My verse is one I found in Psalms and it just said it all.  This is the English Standard Version and the one on my page is New King James version.

From the end of the earth I call to you
    when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
    that is higher than I,
for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!
Psalm 61:2-4

I just love that verse and to me that is the way it has always been even in "Ages Past."  We serve a mighty God.  Now on to my page.

Now, don't forget to go by Patter's blog and check out her post along with the others who have linked up.  I think you will enjoy what each one has to say.

I used My Digital Studio for this page!

Sketch 276 - Monday Lunchtime Sketch

Good Monday Morning and I am coming live to you today.  Yes, I have scheduled this post, but I am doing it and still in town.  Well, I have a story to tell you because when you see this card for this weeks sketch, it is going to look familiar to you!  Last week as you saw on my post for LNS, I was going out of town and had to get my card done and pre-posted prior to leaving.  Well after I got the card done, posted and all set for Monday morning I realized that Mary Jo was on vacation also and her sketch from the week prior was running for 2 weeks and the sketch that I thought was for last week was actually for this week.  Well as you know, I try to combine the two to make it easier for Monday Morning.  Needless to say, I was at the airport and our flight was delayed then cancelled so I had time to get online and look at Mary Jo's post from the week prior while waiting for the rescheduled flight.  Here I am with a post ready to go for LNS and Monday Lunchtime sketch and find out that the sketch was for this week.  Well since I could not change the LNS post, I just took out the sketch information and let the card fly.  So now when you see my card for this weeks sketch you will understand why it looks so familiar.  No problem though as I always love her sketches.  So here is my second card with this sketch.

So which one do you like better?  You can find the first one here!

Hymn & Scripture Challenge # 12 / Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

Happy Sunday to you!  I am finally getting my Hymn & Scripture Challenges pretty much up to date.  I think I am still one behind.  So still a lot of work to do to catch up.

Anyway, when I saw this one, I was so excited.  I love this hymn and can almost sing it without the book.  Beautiful words and a reminder that we always have our Lord to lean on.  I don't know about you, but I find myself leaning on Him everyday.  Look at the words to this song!

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain:
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Aren't those words so comforting?  I am so thankful that I can be safe and secure from all alarms!  Words to live by!

The verse I chose is from Isaiah and it just meant so much to me when I saw it and I thought fit perfectly for this song.

Do you not Know?  Have you not heard?  The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired.  His understanding is inscrutable.
Isaiah 40:28

Now isn't that good to know that our Lord never becomes weary or tired!  We can lean on Him at all times and He is still the same loving God.

Now here is my page!

Here is a beautiful rendition of this hymn by Chet Atkins!  Hope you enjoy!

My Digital Studio was used to design this page!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope your day is blessed!

Clean & Simple Christmas

Well I am back from vacation and went to see Mom today and now back and decided to play a little bit with some new stuff.  My husband started his football season back tonight, so for the next 3 months I will be a Friday Night Football widow.  But I have found in the past that is my best time to create.  I don't feel like I have to sit next to him or watch TV with him.  But, I will tell you that by the end of the season I am ready for the Friday nights to be back to normal.

My new stuff is Christmas so, I guess you could say that I am starting my Christmas cards in August which is the norm for me.  I don't usually just sit down and make 50 of the same card, which might be easier than doing it this way, but it is a lot of fun.  So here is my card using the Clean & Simple sketch that was posted today!

I am using the new festive flurry framelits and the festive flurry stamp set.  I always say this, but I am going to love these.  I have great ideas already.

Here is a side view of the card!

And the inside!

And the card with the envelope using the envelope framelit.  I am definitely going to love this especially for Christmas!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 275--TSSC275

Good Monday Morning and welcome to this weeks Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Mary Jo has certainly given us a Clean and Simple sketch this week and I am loving it.  And, as soon as I saw it, I decided to use the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper and make either a Wedding Card or a Anniversary Card.  While I was looking for the sentiment to go with it, I realized I really did not have anything current for a Wedding, so I went back to an original stamp set that I just love, Whimsical Words.  I just love the way it looks on a card and really adds to the overall card.  So now on to the card!

Here is a side view of the card!

And yes the inside of the card!

I wanted to add this scripture as it seems so appropriate for someone getting married.

All items used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated!

Other Stamp Set: ODB Scripture collection 2
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede

2 months old Scrapbook Page - MDS Monday Challenge

Hello out there my fellow scrapbookers and stampers.  Today I want to share another Scrapbook page of my Grandson's 2 month old picture.  He is five months now, so you can see how behind I am.  Anyway, he is a sweet little fellow and moves so much, it is hard to get a good photo of him.  Just turned five months and already sitting up.  My daughter is going to have her hands full with this one and they are coming into town tonight, so I get to hold that sweet little boy.  No kisses though as I have a cold - yuck!  Anyway, when I saw the sketch this past Monday at MDS Monday, I knew I would be using it for one of his monthly photos and decided to stay in line and do the next one up which is 2 months.  So without further ado, here it is!

Now isn't that just the cutest little thing!!!!
